On 10 December 2012, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ljubljana Petr Voznica presented prizes to pupils of Slovenian primary schools for their participation in this year’s International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. He also opened a thematic exhibition to mark the 40th edition of this exhibition. Besides the pupils, their teachers, the headmistresses and other representatives of the schools, the parents of the prize-winners and compatriots, the prize-giving ceremony was attended by General Manager of Department for Pre-school Education and Primary Schools of Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Alen Kofol.
As usual, Slovenia was well represented in the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. With 36 Slovenian primary schools and nurseries participating in this year’s edition, 7 pupils from 4 schools won prizes.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic presented to headmistresses of three primary schools (in Slovene Osnovna šola - OŠ Davorina Jenka Cerklje na Gornejskem, OŠ Franca Rozmana Staneta Maribor, OŠ Trhovci Ljubljana) bronze Commemorative Medals of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the CR for successful and long-time participation in the competition and for contribution to the promotion of the Czech-Slovenian relationship.
Unlike previous years, this year’s prize-giving ceremony took place in Družina Gallery as it was coupled with the thematic exhibition on International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice, which allows visitors to take a look into the last 10 years of this globally popular children’s competition; especially for Slovenia, it was enriched by past years’ awarded entries by Slovenian pupils. The exhibition, which has been met with elation and amazement at children’s talent and imagination, will be open to the public until 3 January 2013.
Materials on the 40th children’s exhibition along with invitation to participate in the 40th edition were handed over to all primary schools and nursery schools and to the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Culture Science and Sports.
