Timetable

  • 15 March

    Closing date of the current edition (all works must be delivered to the Lidice Memorial by that date) The works received after the closing date will be included into the following edition.

  • April

    April - panel of judges [nové okno]

    The expert panel of judges awards honourable mentions to some works, and grants the commemorative medals and certificates “Rose of Lidice“ to the best of them. All awarded works are exhibited in the main display of the exhibition.

  • Late May - beginning June

    The ceremonial opening of the exhibition at which the best winners from the Czech Republic and a selected foreign participant are awarded personally. During May, but no later than the opening date of the exhibition, the list of the winners and some selected works are published on the exhibition web site http://www.mdvv=lidice.cz. On the opening day, an invitation to participate in the following edition of the exhibition with a given theme is available.

  • June

    June – October - installation [nové okno]

    The winning works of the current edition are displayed on the 2nd floor of the Lidice Gallery at Lidice. Prizes, catalogues and invitations to participate in the following edition are dispatched to all winning schools and individuals in the Czech and Slovak Republics.

  • September - November

    Prize awards - Tokio [nové okno]

    Certificates and medals for child winners from abroad as well as catalogues and invitations to participate in the following edition are dispatched to Czech diplomatic missions in foreign countries which ensure distribution of information on the exhibition in the country of their respective assignments. The way of awarding the prizes depends on accepted practices and possibilities of staffs of the respective embassies (or perhaps Czech centres) – winners are often invited to visit the embassy where the ambassador awards them prizes personally, or visiting the school, the ambassador grants prizes directly in the school, or if long distances are involved the prizes are sent out to children by mail.

  • After the end of the main display at the Lidice Gallery the exhibition (or its part) is being installed at a number of places in our country or abroad. 

  • The best works of children from the Czech Republic are being sent out to foreign joint exhibitions of children’s artistic expressions all over the world.
