ICEFA 2008 prize awards - Macedonia, Skopje

On Saturday 22 November 2008 the laureates of the 36th edition of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice with their company were admitted to the embassy of the Czech Republic in Macedonia Five children received a Rose of Lidice medal and four certificates.
This year for the first time the medal and the certificates were awarded personally to the laureates of the traditional ICEFA Lidice at the diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic in Skopje. Accompanied by teachers, parents and other relatives, all winners received a keepsake of their participation in the competition including some presents from the embassy. It is remarkable that the certificates were bestowed to handicapped children, pupils of the Special primary school of Veles, for whom, as said by one of the parents, the visit of the capital and the admission to the Ambassador of the Czech Republic was a once in a lifetime experience.
The ceremonial act was followed by an informal talk with refreshments. The representatives of the participating schools confirmed that there is a great interest of pupils in the participation in the following edition of the competition. The possibilities of co-operation were outlined of the Czech embassy with those schools, or extension of its activities beyond the capital.
