Prize Awards ICEFA 2009 - Brasil, czech consulate Rio de Janerio

On 22 June 2009, three Brazilian child winners of the 37th ICEFA Lidice 2009 on the theme of “the Universe” were awarded certificates at the Honorary Consulate in Rio de Janeiro. The Prize awards ceremony was held in the presence of the Consul, Mrs. Diamantine Sobotka, her husband, Mr. Freddy Sobotka, the representative of the Education Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro and other guests, including teachers and families of the awarded children. After the speech of the curator, Ms. Ivona Kasalická, the Consul and the curator awarded certificates to Gabriel Andrade Pacheco and Jessica Nascimento Santos from Biblioteca Municipal Euclides da Cunha as well as to Ben Abner Pereira Sant Anna from Colége Estadual Baráo do Rio Branco, with both institutions based in Rio de Janeiro.
Besides the certificates and catalogues the children received books and DVDs about Lidice, puzzles depicting the sculpture Children of Lidice and small ceramic gifts. Mr. Sobotka presented the winners with lavaliers made in his goldsmithy. Catalogues, invitations to participate in the next edition, books about Lidice and other material were given also to teachers from the winning institutions and to the representative of the Education Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
After an official opening, certificate awards and a photograph-taking session, the attendees were invited to have some refreshment prepared by the Consulate.
