ICEFA 2009 Prize Awards - China, Hong Kong

On 13 October 2009 the Consulate General witnessed Consul General Rudolf Hykl awarding honorary mentions to pupils of three Hong Kong art schools, who created the fine art works on the theme of “The Universe”, winning prizes in the 37th International Children’s exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2009.
The event was attended not only by the children, who received some keepsakes and information materials about the Czech Republic, but also by their parents and representatives of the schools. In his speech, Consul general Rudolf Hykl mentioned the tragedy of the village of Lidice, the tradition of the international exhibition of fine art as well as the asset to mutual understanding of the long-term participation of Hong Kong art schools in the competition. The Hong Kong schools were invited to participate in the next edition with the theme “Biodiversity – wildlife diversity”.
