ICEFA 2009 Prize Awards - Germany, Berlin

On 18 March 2010 the Czech Embassy in Berlin hosted the long prepared ceremonial reception of the participants of the 37th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. On invitation by Ambassador of the Czech Republic Rudolf Jindrák, the reception was attended by children (some of them accompanied by their parents) who are involved in the painting hobby group in the Berlin Leisure-Time Centre Sozio-kulturelles Zentrum Ratz-Fatz Berlin, among them a winner of the competition. Also the head of the hobby group Mr. Werner Laube and a representative of the Culture office of Treptow/Köpenick district, Ms Andrea Lobing, were present at the reception.
In his words of greeting, Ambassador Jindrák highlighted the importance of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice and thanked children and adults for their active participation. A honourable mention was presented by Ambassador Rudolf Jindrák to fourteen-year-old Vivien Drewes. Other young visitors from 6 to 14 years of age received keepsakes featuring the Czech Republic, including basic painting aids. Voicing praise for ICEFA, the German guests promised to continue in their active participation. Sozio-kulturelles Zentrum Ratz-Fatz Berlin has already sent the entries by their children to the current 38th ICEFA.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic has sent prizes and letters of congratulation by Ambassador also to two schools outside Berlin that have pupils who succeeded in ICEFA with their entries. Letters of thanks by Ambassador were sent also to the directors of four other schools that had not succeeded in the 37th ICEFA. All the schools received also the information about the current 38th edition of the competition. Moreover, so called Conference of the Ministers of Education has been asked for co-operation in the promotion of the competition. Note: Education in the Federal Republic of Germany falls fully within the remit of each federal state.
