ICEFA 2011 Prize Awards - Slovenia, Ljubljana

On the afternoon of 9 November 2011, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ljubljana Petr Voznica presented a Rose of Lidice medal, which is the highest prize of the competition, and several honourable mentions to the pupils of Slovenian primary schools and nursery schools who had won the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2011. The award ceremony was attended by all the winners, accompanied by their parents, teachers, and headmistresses. Also representatives of the Slovenian ministries of education and culture as well as the head of the municipality Slovenske Konjice were present.

This year’s Slovenian participation in the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2011 was at its highest level so far. Entries were sent in from 23 primary schools and nursery schools plus two independent participants.

Te prizes were taken over by pupils from six primary schools and one independent participant:

Rok Tauzes (OŠ Vižmarje – Brod, Ljubljana)
Karin Mastnak and David Vidmar (OŠ Pod Goro - Slovenske Konjice)
Eva Perše (VVZ Slovenj Gradec, enota Podgorje)
Tilen Hribar Rajterič (OŠ Milana Šuštarčiča Ljubljana)
David Bezlaj and Katja Jakše (OŠ Belokranjskega odreda Semič)
Bernard Baler and Martin Fekonja (OŠ Vrhovci, Ljubljana)
Tatjana Kotnik (Celje)

This year there were not any prizes awarded to participants from the PS Beltinci, Beltinci, PS Davorina Jenka in Cerklje na Gorenjskem, PS Dramlje, Scuola Materna Laguilone, PS Marije Vere, PS Koseze, PS Zadobrova, PS Borcev za Severno Mejo, PS Franca Rozmana Staneta, PS Toneta Čufarja, PS Mokronog, PS Jurija Vege Moravče, PS Frana Erjavca, PS Petrovče, PS Antona Globočnika, PS Sava Kladnika, PS Franja Malgaja and the independent participant Lara Rubin.

Materials on the 39th children’s exhibition along with invitation to participate in the 40th edition were handed over to all primary schools and nursery schools, to the Slovenian Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education and Sport. All prospective participants are advised to see the ICEFA website www.mdvv-lidice.cz containing detailed information about past exhibitions and the particulars of the application (deadline is 15 March 2012).

Our thanks go to the Lidice Memorial for sending us all materials about the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice, which has already found its place in the programmes of primary schools and which is considered an important activity contributing to positive picture of the Czech Republic in Slovenia.
