ICEFA 2011 Prize Awards - Great Britain, Stoke-on-Trent

21. 11. 2011

The Deputy Czech Ambassador, Antonin Hradilek and the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent were in attendance as UK children who've impressed judges with their artwork in the 2011 International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts (ICEFA) received their awards at the North Staffs Conference Centre on the 1st November 2011. The event was organised by Art Venue CIC, coordinators of The UK Children's Fine Art Competition - a contributor to The ICEFA

Altogether 10 pupils from the following schools: Ball Green Primary, Heron Cross Primary, Abbey Hill School and Performing Arts College, and Our Lady's School won awards in the prizegiving ceremony sponsored by Art Venue CIC, The Strasser Foundation and Stoke-on-Trent City Council; Heron Cross School did particularly well in winning a school award.

The evening featured several events and activities including: performances by The Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Choir, which will be representing the UK at next year's Festival of Lights in Lidice; a virtuoso classical music performance by Czech violinist Šárka Skučková; and a demonstration of Clive Mollart's interactive soundbox: There was also a showing of the excellent film produced by James Truswell which explained the link between Stoke-on-Trent and Lidice, which the children celebrated by entering the fine art competition.
