ICEFA 2011 Prize Awards - Japan, Tokyo
15. 2. 2012
On 7 February 2012 the Embassy in Tokyo played host to formal certificate awards of the 39th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. The certificates were handed over to nine children from Tokyo’s art schools by Ambassadress of the Czech Republic to Japan Kateřina Fialková.
The guests invited to the award ceremony were not only the children (out of the nine winners seven were present) but also their teachers from Tokyo’s Dreamy Art School and Kamon Children Art School, representatives of the art centre Sakon Creation, the parents and other relatives of the children.
Japanese art schools have been participating in the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice for several years now and their pupils’ entries have been very successful. Ambassadress K. Fialková explained why the competition had been established and how the entries are selected for awards. Besides the honourable mentions the Embassy gave the children some keepsakes and showed them a story from the Czech animated film “The Mole”. Then a snack followed, prepared by the Embassy.
At the conclusion of the event, the teachers were reminded of the theme and the closing date of the 40th edition of the competition “The Theatre – the Puppet – the Fairytale”, for which several entries were accepted through the good services of the Embassy.
