ICEFA 2012 Prize Awards - Belarus, Minsk

On 6 February 2013 the Minsk gallery “Institute of Culture” had a ceremonial opening of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2012. At this ceremony prizes were presented to the creators of awarded entries from Belarus. The event took place with the support of the Club of Diplomats’ Wives in Minsk. The exhibition was one of the cultural events marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Czech Republic and Belarus.

The evening was opened by the choir of veterans – former children who had survived concentration camps; then opening speeches followed of Head of the Lidice Gallery Ivona Kasalická, Dagmar Didenko Novohradská, CDA a.i., Natalie Suchovetskaja, the representative of the Club of Diplomats’ Wives, and Elena Popova, the chairwoman of the art association Green Cross Belarus. Then 16 (out of 17) child-winners received their prizes. The Embassy in Minsk treated the guests of the ceremony to a glass of wine at the end of the evening.

The opening of the exhibition and the prize-giving ceremony was attended by circa 70 people, some from the field of art and others as representatives of diplomatic missions. As usual, the exhibition received great attention of the media, among them the 1st channel of the state television, channel ONT or Radio Culture. The exhibition in Minsk will last till 12 February 2013 and then will move to Brest where it will be able to be seen in the Brest Fortress from 15 February till 3 March 2013.
