ICEFA 2012 Prize Awards - Albania, Tirana

In the premises of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tirana, Ambassador Bronislava Tomášová bestowed the Mention Award to the two Albanian children – Lidia Muca and Eden Tugu from the Gezimi i syrit Artistic Group – for their participation in the 40th edition of the International Children’s Exhibition Fine Art Lidice 2012.
This exhibition is one of the oldest and largest children’s artistic impressions in Europe organized by the Lidice memorial and supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Czech Commission forUNESCO. The assigned theme of the last year edition was the Theatre – the Puppet – the Fairytale in commemoration of the 100th birth anniversary of Jiří Trnka, well known Czech artist.
Ambassador Tomášová emphasized during the ceremony the importance of this competition that lies in bringing children around the world together to express their impressions by paintings which are then exposed in the Lidice memorial. The city of Lidice was destroyed during the Second World War by Nazi Troops in reaction to the assassination of German Nazi Protector Heydrich.
