ICEFA 2013 Prize Awards - Azerbaijan, Baku

On 30 October 2013, within the celebration of the Day of Foundation of the Independent Czechoslovak State, the Czech Embassy in Baku had a prize award ceremony in which the participants of the 41st International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts (ICEFA) "Lidice 2013" received their prizes.
In his opening speech, Head of the Diplomatic Mission Radek Matula mentioned the meaning and the mission of ICEFA, informed about the results of its 41st edition and gladly acknowledged great lasting interest in this competition among participants from Azerbaijan. (For the fourth time Azerbaijan has been placed in the first third or half of the "result sheet" in terms of both registered entries and awarded prizes.)
Also a representative of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan (head of the science and education department) Jašar Alijev addressed the winners and their teachers, thanking the Embassy for arranging the ceremony and appreciating the effort of the main organizer of the competition - the Lidice Memorial as well as other Czech entities that regularly give ICEFA their support.
The five awarded young artists (one of them with a "Rose of Lidice" medal) received their certificates along with material gifts (dolls wearing national costumes of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia) provided for this purpose by the Embassy in Baku.
As has become a tradition, a formal announcement of the theme of the next ICEFA was made at the event.
