ICEFA 2013 Prize Awards - Tunisia, Tunis

18. 4. 2014

Opened in May at the Lidice Gallery, the latest, 41st International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts saw come in more than 24 thousand of artworks from 68 countries. The theme of the competition was "Tradition and Heritage of My Country's People". The expert panel of judges selected more than 1,400 top pieces of art. The embassy of the Czech Republic in Tunisia was pleased to find that a representative of Tunisia is among the laureates.
The International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts was founded in 1967 to commemorate the child victims from the Czech village of Lidice who were murdered during WWII as well as all other children who died in war conflicts.

Although national initially, this exhibition became an international one in 1973 and in the course of its history gained renown among children and teachers literally all over the world, as attested by the above-mentioned number of the last received entries. As the renown of the competition grows, the international attendance increases.

The embassy of the Czech Republic is pleased to see that children from Tunisia proved their artistic talent among so many other competitors also in the latest edition of the competition.

On 14 November, in the presence of the parents and the schoolmistress, the Embassy had a prize-giving ceremony to celebrate the 13-year-old student of Institution Privée Laghmani in Sidi Dhrif, Miss Erij Baldi. We congratulate her on her success and invite her and other children to participate in the next, 42nd edition of the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts.
