On 11 October 2005, the preview of the exhibition took place in the presence of the mayor and the deputy mayor of the city of Pleven, local cultural officers, Head of the Czech Centre in Sofia Mgr. Vlasta Ransdorfová, local media – TV and press representatives and above all, many children, their parents and teachers, which was very nice and enjoyable. The city of Pleven has been chosen for the exhibition also because there is a large pottery workshop in the local art school where this strand of art education has a long history. The artworks made by children under the leadership of experienced teachers have been sent in to our competition and exhibition for many years, often being selected by the expert panel of judges for awards.

Since the UNESCO recommends a different theme from the UN calendar for each edition of the competition, the exhibition is enriched by new exhibits every year, which makes it totally different from the preceding editions. Therefore, it is appropriate to commend the interest and the work of the Czech Centre in Sofia, which has understood it well and, like in the previous year when the 31st ICEFA Lidice 2003 on the theme of folk customs and traditions was on display in Nova Zagora – invited the Lidice Memorial to put on display the 32nd ICEFA Lidice again.

The exhibition in Pleven will last till the end of October 2005.
