Invitation for Children to participate in the 55th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Art Lidice 2027
Dear Children, dear Teachers,
We cordially invite you to participate in the 55th International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2027.
The competition and accompanying exhibition are among the largest of their kind in the world, bringing together thousands of children from across the globe every year. The United Nations General Assembly has declared 2027 the International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism. It reminds us that travelling and discovering the world can help build understanding among people, protect nature and cultural heritage, and contribute to a better future for everyone.
The 55TH ICEFA Lidice will be dedicated to the theme:
Holidays
Holidays are a time of joy, adventure, relaxation, and the discovery of new places, people, and experiences. For some, they mean a trip to the seaside; for others, a summer camp, a nature excursion, visiting grandparents, or simply ordinary summer days filled with games and imagination.
The theme encourages reflection on how we spend our free time and explore the world around us. What do holidays, adventure, or relaxation mean to you? Which places bring you joy, peace, or inspiration?
We look forward to receiving artworks full of colour, imagination, emotions, and personal stories — holidays that are real or dreamt of, near or far.
Artistic CATEGORIES
Drawing and Painting, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Photography, Film and Animation, and Three-Dimensional Objects
COMPETITION EVALUATION AND EXHIBITION
The submitted works will be evaluated by a professional jury in two rounds. Award-winning works will be exhibited from June 2027 at the annual exhibition in the Lidice Gallery. Award-winning two-dimensional works will be archived after the exhibition closes. Smaller collections of selected works will subsequently travel to exhibition venues throughout the Czech Republic and abroad.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
The competition and exhibition are open to children aged 4–16, both individuals and participants from schools and art clubs. Participants with disabilities may participate without age restrictions.
- Maximum size of two-dimensional artwork: 70 × 50 cm.
- Maximum size of three-dimensional artwork: 100 × 70 × 40 cm, maximum weight 10 kg.
- A maximum of 2 artworks per author in each artistic category may be submitted (Drawing and Painting, Printmaking, Mixed Media, Photography, Film and Animation, and Three-Dimensional Objects). Authors may participate in multiple categories.
- We encourage careful selection of submitted works in order to create the highest-quality collection representing each school.
- Works using materials that may smudge or shed particles must be properly fixed.
- Photographs will be accepted only if printed on high-quality photographic paper.
- Films/animations: maximum length 3 minutes.
- To be eligible for the competition, all conditions stated at www.mdvv-lidice.cz must be fulfilled. Failure to comply with the rules or incomplete/illegible information may result in disqualification.
Reasons for Disqualification
Only original artworks will be accepted. Copies, photocopies, or electronic versions will not be evaluated. Only works that adhere to the annual theme will be considered. Oversized works, works mounted with mats or backed with coloured or other papers, and insufficiently labelled works will be disqualified. The maximum weight of one shipment containing competition entries must not exceed 10 kg.
Each individual artwork must be properly labelled.

IMPORTANT: All artworks must physically arrive in Lidice by this date.

The completed application form and a list of participants must be enclosed with the submitted artworks.
laballing of artworks
Each competition entry must be labelled on the reverse side with an identification label (available for download from the website). The label should be completed legibly in block letters using the Latin alphabet (preferably typed on a computer).
For three-dimensional works, the label may be attached with a string.
The label must include:
- Participant’s first name, surname, and age.
- Full name and address of the school or organisation submitting the work (organisation registration number, school name, street, building number, postal code, city). Award notifications will be sent to this address.
- School or organisation e-mail address and the e-mail addresses of the teachers and/or art instructors submitting the works and wishing to receive information about the competition.
- If the participant is entering individually, please provide their name, age, home address, and contact e-mail address (parent or guardian).
By entering the competition, the participant or the child’s legal guardian consents to the processing of the personal data provided for the purposes of administering the competition and exhibition. More information is available at: www.mdvv-lidice.cz/gdpr
Labelled artworks, together with the application form, should be delivered to the Lidice Gallery, a collection point, or sent to:
