The Robots Are Already Coming to the 49th ICEFA Lidice!

21. 1. 2021

Several hundred paintings and drawings on the theme "Robot and artificial intelligence" from Europe, America, Asia and Africa have already arrived at the Lidice Gallery. The gradual registration of artworks for the competition has started, you can follow it under Registered entries.

We would like to assure you that the 49th International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice will take place this year, despite the current epidemiological situation. The closing date for the competition on Friday, February 19, 2021 still applies (it is the last possible date for sending the parcels with artworks to Lidice). The work must physically arrive at the Lidice Gallery well in advance of the meeting of the exhibition’s jury (1st round: March 18 - 20, 2021).

We also continue to offer you the opportunity to collect unawarded artworks from the 48th year at the Lidice Gallery. The gallery is currently closed, but we can hand the works over to you or your representative on prior arrangement.

All information and forms necessary for participation in the 49th year can be found here. In case you have unexpected complications with the delivery of artworks to Lidice, please contact us by e-mail at children@lidice-memorial.cz. We will be happy to help you individually.

Thank you, we are looking forward to your artworks!

The jury session is postponed, new artworks arrive every day

5. 3. 2021

Dear participants, thank you very much for this year's great interest in the exhibition! Packages with artworks from all over the world continue to arrive at the Lidice Gallery.

We carefully store all delivered packages and we will register all entries in time for the exhibition jury. Please, do not worry if you currently do not see your artworks on our website as registered for the competition. Due to the worsening of the epidemic situation in the Czech Republic and the tightening of anti-COVID-19 measures, we have postponed the jury session, thus extending the registration of artworks, which will continue into April.

We will inform you about the new date of the jury session.

With best wishes

ICEFA Lidice team

The exhibition jury will take place in May

1. 5. 2021

The exhibition jury will soon select the winning artworks of the 49th International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2021.

Despite the fact that schools, art schools and art clubs in the Czech Republic and in other countries have been closed for a large part of the year, more than 11 000 works on the topic of "Robot and artificial intelligence" from 72 countries were delivered to the Lidice Gallery, among them over seven hundred 3D artworks. All participants showed incredible commitment and creativity in the current situation. Thank you very much!

Due to the postponement of the jury meeting, the whole schedule of the exhibition will change. The results of the competition are expected to be published on the website www.mdvv-lidice.cz in mid-June and the exhibition of the winning artworks in the Lidice Gallery will open in mid-July. The exhibition at the Lidice Gallery will be extended until January.

The updated schedule of the exhibition will be published after the jury meeting. We are sorry that you have to wait a little longer for the results of the competition and for the exhibition this year. The postponement has been caused by adverse epidemiological situation in the Czech Republic. Thank you very much for your understanding.

Jury Session of the 49th ICEFA Lidice 2021

10. 5. 2021

The jury session of ICEFA Lidice took place at the Lidice Gallery from May 6 to May 8, 2021. In two rounds, the jury carefully chose artworks to be awarded from over 11,200 works of art by children from 72 countries on the theme of "Robot and artificial intelligence".

Due to the ongoing pandemic, only members of the jury from the Czech Republic took part in the meeting, similarly to the last year. We sincerely hope that next year it will be possible to invite colleagues from abroad to Lidice again.

With the necessary postponement of the jury from the original date in March, the schedule of the exhibition has changed.

The results of the competition will be published on the exhibition website on June 21. You can visit the exhibition of almost a thousand awarded works at the Lidice Gallery from the beginning of July. The traditional award ceremony for medallists from the Czech Republic and the two schools awarded with the Jury Prize will take place on September 9 in the garden of the Lidice Gallery.

Prize-giving ceremony at the Lidice Gallery

10. 9. 2021

On Thursday, 9th September, the garden of the Lidice Gallery hosted the winners announcement ceremony, where the highest awards of the exhibition, "Rose of Lidice” medals and Prizes of the Panel of Judges, were presented.

The first part of the ceremony was dedicated to the Prizes of the Panel of Judges – the highest awards bestowed on a Czech and a foreign school. The Prize of the Panel of Judges for the Czech Republic went to the Social Service Centre Horizont in Protivín for a unique, unusual and very impressive collection of entries. They will come to Lidice for the prize individually during the duration of the exhibition.

The prize of the Panel of Judges for a foreign school went to the Visual Art Center in Kryvyj Rih, Ukraine. The glass palette by the art glass-maker Jiří Pačinek was presented symbolically to Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic H. E. Jevhen Perebyjnis.

The later part of the ceremony saw almost fifty medallist receive their medals. The child winners received a medal, a certificate, a reproduction of their artwork and gifts – books, art accessories, and other beautiful prizes. One medallist from Poland also came to Lidice in person to receive her medal. Clients of Domov Raspenava, who won a medal for school for their collection of mixed media works, received their certificates on the stage together.

Foreign winners, who won 66 medal in total this year, will receive their prizes through co-operation with embassies of the Czech Republic abroad and the Czech Centres, which take care of the presentation of the prizes in the countries of their respective mission. This year, out of 11,213 entries from 72 countries 945 entries received 952 awards – 124 medals, 32 medals for schools for collections of entries and 796 honourable mentions.

All day, children could enjoy activities in the garden of the Lidice Gallery, inspired by the theme of the exhibition, "ROBOT and artificial intelligence". Thus, children had the opportunity to make hand paper thanks to the hand paper mill Papyrea, fly drones with a team from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, try 3D print and chemical tricks with a team of the University of Chemistry and Technology Prague as well as puzzles and artistic activities with the leisure centre Labyrint. This year's exhibition featuring the theme 'ROBOT and artificial intelligence' was open to visitors throughout the day.

Our thanks go to our partners and sponsors for beautiful gifts for children and other forms of support for the exhibition.
