ICEFA 2010 prize awards - Uzbekistan, Tashkent

15. 5. 2011

On 20 April 2011, Ambassador of the Czech Republic Robert Kopecký awarded ceremonially certificates and gifts to two girls from Uzbekistan whose entries were assessed as the best ones by the panel of judges of International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2010. The ceremony was attended by more than 500 visitors.

After we received a request from the Department of Culture and Promotion of the Czech Republic Abroad to hand over materials about the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice, particularly to present certificates to the winners of the 38th edition of the exhibition, to hand over the catalogues to the child winners and their schools and to pass letters of thanks and invitations to participate in the next edition of the ICEFA Lidice, we waited for an appropriate occasion to make the awards public and ceremonial so that its effect might be as far-reaching as possible and the awarded girls might appreciate it the more.

In the end, we chose the 2nd festival concert Planet – Our Common Homeland, which took place on Wednesday, 20 April 2011 in the large hall of the State Conservatoire Uzbekistan in the presence of more than 500 guests. This concert was dedicated to the culture of Uzbekistan Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic. Since the panel of judges chose to award the entries of two girls from the same school who have been taught by the same lady teacher and since this teacher is 19, we made one more certificate of the Embassy Tashkent for her. Apart from the certificates all three then received gift bags with letters of thanks, invitations to participate in the next edition along with catalogues of the Lidice exhibition and some Czech keepsakes including puzzles with the picture of Prague Castle and little bells of Czech cut glass.

The awards went to:
1. Sitora Saidhodjaevna Shamsieva – a pupil
2. Alina Ravshanovna Yuldasheva - a pupil
3. Oksana Ivanovna Bedrickaya – the teacher
