ICEFA 2011 Prize Awards - Algeria, Algiers

As three Algerian girls had won awards in the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2011, the Czech Embassy in Algiers organized a formal presentation of certificates at the premises of the Embassy. On 24 November 2011 the head of the Embassy handed the certificates over to the three Algerian winners: Anais Azirou, Yasmine Lyna Zouaoui and N´djima Ines Boudissa. All three girls are pupils of the private elementary school Chemsé in Algeria.

The formal presentation was attended by schoolmates of the three winners, their teachers as well as children from the S.O.S. village Draria in Algiers, who had also participated in large numbers in the competition (circa 40 children in total). Also present were representatives of the Ministry of Education and pedagogues of the College of Fine Arts in Algiers. Moreover, the ceremony was captured by Algerian TV.

The event took place in a friendly atmosphere. The pupils sang traditional Algerian songs and presented the head of the Embassy with a picture of their own making. Thanks to the sponsors, Nestlé and Danone, (or perhaps thanks to Czech employees of these companies) The Embassy was able to treat children to a snack and give them some keepsakes. The head of the Embassy handed the remainder of the rich sponsor gift from Nestlé (cereals, cocoa, dry milk etc.) over to the S.O.S. children’s village in Algeria.

In the upcoming days the Embassy in Algiers is going to publish the invitation to participate in the next edition of the competition.
