ICEFA 2009 Prize Awards - Montenegro, Podgorica

Initiated by the Embassy in Beograd and the Consular Agency at Podgorica, honourable mention awards took place in a festively decorated hall of the Ministry of Education and Science on 10 February 2010. Seventeen Montenegrin children received the prizes awarded to them by the expert panel of judges for their participation in the international competition of fine arts Lidice 2009. As far back as early January, letters of greeting from the organizers of the competition and invitations to participate in this year’s 38th edition were sent out by the Consular Agency to another forty Montenegrin children who participated in the above-mentioned competition.
In addition to the young laureates and their parents, the headmasters of the 10 schools and art teachers, also Deputy Minister of Education Vesna Vučurović and members of the staffs of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present.
After the opening speech by Deputy Minister Vučurović, Ambassadress of the Czech Republic H. Hubáčková greeted the children. Stressing the timelessness and great international prestige of the competition, she invited the children and their classmates to participate in its 38th edition. She also thanked the Ministry of Education for helpfulness in the organization of the event as well as the parents and the school representatives whose support was indispensable for the children’s success. She concluded with presenting the children with the certificates and small gifts from the Embassy Beograd/Consular Agency Podgorica.
A modest banquet in the premises of the Ministry of Education and Science was part of the event.
The certificate award ceremony was well attended by press, radio and TV representatives. The following day saw the major Montenegro dailies (Pobjeda, Vjesti, Dan) inform on the event.
