The UN General Assembly at its 61st session declared the year 2010 the International Year of Biodiversity. This is a very potent theme, relevant to life in today’s world in which dozens of animal and plant species irretrievably disappear every day. It is the youngest generation who should be the most deeply involved in preservation of living nature because one day they will be entrusted to pass it on to their successors. Therefore, we would like them and their teachers to ponder and try to express in painting the meaning of the term BIODIVERSITY, or

• beetles and butterflies in my country
• who lives in the rivers and lakes of my country
• trees and forests in my country
• wild flowers and gramineous plants in my country
