An exhibition of children’s entries to the 40th International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts LIDICE took place in the Latvian town of Rézekne from 12 December to 9 January 2013. Rézekne, or more precisely the nearby village of Audrini, suffered the fate similar to that of Lidice; it was also burnt down by Nazis during the WWII. Rézekne children participate actively in the children’s art competition LIDICE every year, often receiving awards.

Taking place in a recently opened community centre in the town of ZEIMULS, the exhibition was met with great success. There were about four thousand of child-visitors there along with their parents and teachers.

On the occasion of the termination of the exhibition a visit took place of a delegation from the Embassy in Riga with Cultural Officer Michal Korecký saying goodbye to representatives of the town.
