ICEFA 2011 Prize Awards - Montenegro, Podgorica

On the initiative of the Embassy in Belgrade and the Consular Agency in the capital of Montenegro, 10 April 2012 saw the decorated premises of the Ministry of Education and Sports having awards of certificates to four Montenegro children, issued by the expert panel of judges for their participation in the international art exhibition Lidice 2011. Other 10 children from Montenegro who had participated in the competition without being awarded were sent by Consular Agency in Podgorica letters of greeting from the organizers of the event along with invitations to participate in this year’s 40th edition of the competition.
Besides the awarded children and their parents, art teachers and headmasters of the relevant schools, also Deputy Minister of Education and Sports Vesna Vučurović and officials of the Ministries of Culture and of Foreign affairs were present at the ceremony.
After the opening speech of Vesna Vučurović, Head of Consular Agency in Podgorica V Dobeš greeted the audience. Stressing the timeless significance of the competition and the high and ever-growing prestige it enjoys, he expressed his appreciation for the participation of Montenegrin schools in this year’s 40th edition of the competition. He also conveyed thanks to the education department for its helpfulness and its share in the organization of the event as well as to the parents and the representatives of the schools without whom the children would not have been able to achieve such success. At the end, V Dobeš and Deputy Minister V. Vučurović presented each child with a certificate and a small keepsake from the Embassy in Belgrade/Consular Agency in Podgorica.
Included were also small refreshments provided by the Ministry of Education and Sports. Information on the 40th edition of the competition was available on the website of the Montenegrin Ministry of Education as early as January 2012. The headmasters of all primary schools were timely informed also by a letter from the Ministry.
The award ceremony took place in the presence of press and several TV and radio channels. So far, the event has been covered by Pobjeda daily (see attachment)
