ICEFA 2013 Prize Awards - Indonesia, Jakarta, Singapore, Brunei,East Timor

Indonesia
The most recent awarding of prizes for the successful Indonesian children took place on December 3rd, 2013 at 3pm at the residence of the Czech Ambassador in Jakarta, T.Smetánka, who handed out the respective awards to the children. We announced the details of this event on our web page together with the ICEFA Lidice 2014 call for entries, which has also been distributed among several Indonesian daily newspapers and children magazines, some of which published the information in their news section, and even had representatives visiting the awards ceremony.

Besides the press representatives present at the ceremony, school children from the town of Badung arrived accompanied by their parents and teachers, and children from an orphanage in Jakarta visited escorted by their caretakers.
Singapore
On October 30th, 2013 the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic, Mr. Kwee Liong Seen, organized the Czech National Day Ceremony in Singapore. A prize ceremony for the Singaporean children successful in the Lidice competition was a part of the event, also attended by Ambassador T.Smetánka. Brunei
As for the children of Brunei, we sent the respective awards directly to the school in Brunei, which, as a result organized the actual handout of prizes at the end of the year 2013.
East Timor
Until this year, East Timor had never participated in the Lidice competition. Thanks to the cooperation of W. Toisuta, the Indonesian Advisor of East Timor’s Minister of Education, a big art happening was held in the capital of Dili on March 9th, 2014, during which the children of East Timor painted their pictures for this year’s ICEFA Lidice 2014. Besides the Czech Ambassador T.Smetánka, the Premier of East Timor Mr. Xanana Gusmão, as well as the country’s first and only winter Olympic games participant Y.G. Gonçalves were present at the event.
