Awarding prizes to Czech and Slovak children

On 29 May 2013 the best child-winners from Czech schools were awarded medals at the ceremonial opening of the exhibition in the Cultural House in Kladnogarden of the Lidice Gallery.

The same day saw also the crystal palette, the Prize of the ICEFA 2013 Panel of Judges for czech School, being awarded to Basic Art School Háj ve Slezsku and Price of the ICEFA 2013 for foreign School beeng awarded to the Basic Art School Holíč, Slovakia.

The certificates and medals for other Czech children were dispatched at the beginning of June 2013 and the relevant schools and organizations will ensure their handover to the winners. Letters of thanks to the non-winning schools were sent also in June.

The certificates and medals for Slovak children were dispatched on 29 June 2013 to Czech Embassy in Bratislava, which will arrange the handover of the prizes. 

Prize awards abroad

The certificates and medals for the child-winners abroad will be sent out to the diplomatic missions in the relevant countries in early September 2013, which will subsequently arrange the handover of the prizes.

The way of awarding the prizes depends on accepted practices and possibilities of staffs of the respective embassies (or perhaps Czech centres) – often there is a festive programme at the embassy arranged for the child winners, including refreshments and cultural performances, in which the ambassador himself awards the children prizes. The ambassador often visits the respective schools and grants prizes directly in the school, or if long distances are involved, the prizes are sent out to children and schools by post.
