ICEFA 2015 Prize Awards – Slovenia, Ljubljana

On February 22nd, 2016 the Czech Ambassador Mrs. Vera Zemanova along with the Slovenian Minister of Education Maja Makovec Brenčič presented the ICEFA 2015 awards to the successful Slovenian school students in the 43rd year of the competition. It took place on the premises of the Slovenian Ministry of Education, where Ms.Zemanová and Ms.Brenčič also held a business meeting prior to the prize awards.

Slovenian schools are regular participants of the children's art competiton organized by Lidice Memorial and are represented by a large number of entries. 345 works from 26 Slovenian schools entered this year's competition. In the end 18 children won awards this year, one of them receiving a medal and a medal was also awarded to the Rogašovec Elementary School, whose students are the competition's long term participants. Besides the winning children, the schools' head masters, teachers and the students' parents were present at the prize award ceremony.

In her speech Ambassador Věra Zemanová gave appreciation to all the participants' effort and congratulated the children for their awards. She also thanked the Slovenian Ministry of Education for its help in organizing the prize award and for their information regarding the competition to schools in Slovenia. The Slovenian Minister of Education then commented on the fruitful cooperation between the two countries and suggested that in that regard the foreign departments of the two countries' respective educational ministries broaden their partnership.

Refresments were provided to the visitors after the ceremony.
