25. 9. 2017

The opening ceremony of the International Children's Art Exhibition, Lidice 45, ICEFA, was held at the Vilnius Embassy in Vilnius on the occasion of the ceremonial opening of the Lidice 2010-14-14 ICEFA in the Vilnius Center of Informal Education on Monday 25 September 2017. This year, Vilnius was attended by Ivona Kasalicka, leader of the Lidice Gallery and curator of the Lidice ICEFA.

The 45th edition of the ICEFA Lidice 2017 was successful for Lithuanian participants: they enjoyed a total of 4 medals, 1 school medal, and 11 honorable medals. The United Nations declared 2017 the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, and therefore the 45th anniversary of the competition was dedicated to the theme of Travel. It was attended by 25,690 participants from 83 countries. Of all the works of young Lithuanian artists, it was clear that young artists were very courageously embarking on elaborate creative work with interesting ideas and novel forms of work, and artistically, they dealt with not only external but also internal and spiritual travel.

The ceremony was launched by a young artist from the Art School of Trakais Airidė Stankevičiūtė, who played for the audience "The Old Tower" by the famous Lithuanian composer B. Borisovas. Alicia Krasavceva from the same trakia art school introduced a composition by Johann van der Linden to the audience, and accordionist Erikas Sadauskas played the merry piece of the Italian composer A. Frosini. Ambassador Bohumil Mazánek, who cordially welcomed all the laureates, their parents, siblings, teachers, thanked for their participation in international competitions and congratulated many other successes on the award-winning authors of works of art, and the teachers and parents expressed their appreciation for the preparation of children. The curator of the international exhibition, Ivona Kasalická, thanked once again for the exceptional opportunity to be in Vilnius and meet with the young authors of artworks.

However, children from the main part had the greatest pleasure - the laureates from the Trakaique Art School, the Pan-European Art School, the Art School of A. Brakas in Klaipeda, the Endreeum Prognosis in Endriej and the Ruth Marijuana Preschool took medals, diplomas and gifts from the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Lithuania Bohumil Mazánka curator of ICEFA Lidice Ivony Kasalické

After the award, the participants were rewarded with a small honeymoon, which was prepared for the children by embassy staff and family members.

Head of the Lidice Gallery and ICEFA Lidice met during her visit to Lithuania, together with a member of the international jury of Lidice, Renata Mečkovskiene (a teacher of visual arts at the Trakia Art School) visited the Lithuanian Education Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Vilnius, where she met the exhibition laureates and excellent educators who help disabled children to get to know the world of colors and the art of expressing themselves. Then she visited the Vilnius School of Art in Vilnius and in the Center for Informal Education of Lithuanian pupils I. Kasalicka discussed with a non-formal education expert on common problems and challenges related to the field of non-formal education and possible cooperation between the Lidice Gallery and the Center for informal education of pupils in Lithuania
