ICEFA 2014 Prize Awards - Indonesia, Jakarta, Singapore

SINGAPORE
The Czech Ambassador to Indonesia, Mr. Tomáš Smetánka, handed out Honourable Mentions to the Singaporean students awarded in ICEFA Lidice 2014, together with the Rose of Lidice medal won by their school. The action took place as a part of the Czech National Day Ceremony at the Regent Hotel in Singapore on October 27th, 2014.
More than 70 guests were present at the event, which is annually organized by the Czech Honourary Consule in Singapore, Mr. Kwee Liong Seen, especially for the local Czech community. And just as last year, all the guests rewarded the successful young artists with applause. Mr.Wong Lok Oon, the Headmaster of the Si Ling Secondary School, then received the Medal for the school’s collection of graphics.
INDONESIA
On November 27th, 2014 the Award Ceremony for Indonesian participants of the 42nd running of the International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice took place at the residency of the Head of the Czech Embassy in Jakarta. Ambassador T.Smetánka handed out the awards and small gifts to the successful participants from Indonesia in the presence of their parents, along with school and media representatives (Berita Satu TV).
Out of a total of 212 art works submitted in the competition from Indonesia, 7 were awarded with an Honourable Mention and one with the Rose of Lidice Medal. Ambassador T.Smetánka passed on to the successful participants of the competition not only the awards, but also small gifts.
Guests of the ceremony had a chance to see the award-winning works, as well as to get acquainted with the year-round cycle of the Lidice competition by watching a promotional DVD. Part of the program was also a simple quiz, and the book The Wall by Petr Sís was the award for its successful participants.
At the end of the ceremony the Ambassador encouraged the children present to participate fully and actively in the upcoming 43rd running of the competition ICEFA Lidice.
