ICEFA Prize Awards 2014 - Morocco, Rabat

The Rose of Lidice medal is the most prestigious award of the international children’s art exhibition organized in Lidice. A total of 27 868 works by children from 77 countries entered this year’s competition. According to the organizers, there was only one girl representing Morocco; however, she was awarded the highest prize - Hiba Khamlichi won the Rose of Lidice.
On October 30th, 2014 this now-turned 14-year-old girl received her award from the hands of Ambassador Michaela Froňková in the premises of the Czech Embassy in Rabat.
Hiba Khamlichi, who in Morocco has been considered a very talented artist since childhood, came to the embassy accompanied by her father. Mr. Khamlichi recognized his daughter’s talent in her early years and has been supporting her aspirations ever since. He, for example, searches out opportunities for his daughter to participate in international exhibitions and competitions.
“But in the end it’s always Hiba, who decides whether to participate. In the case of ICEFA Lidice she was taken with its theme,“ Mr. Khamichi explained during the award presentation.
