ICEFA Prize Awards 2014 – Montenegro, Podgorica, Cetinje, Rožaje, Nikšič and Berane

The Award Ceremony for this year’s 42nd International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice took place in the Montenegrin town of Cetinje on November 13, 2014. An Honourable Mention with additional materials was handed out on the premises of Vrtić Zagorka Ivanović Kindergarten in the presence of the Headmistress Senka Vuksanović, teachers, children, relatives, as well as representatives of the local government and media.

During the ceremony in Cetinje, other materials were presented to the guests, including invites to the upcoming ICEFA 2015, info and promo materials about the Czech Republic, and some small memorabilia. Similar prize awarding ceremonies will take place in Rožaje, Berane, Nikšić, Golubovci and the capital city of Podgorica.  Information and selected photos from the mentioned events will be placed up on the Czech Embassy in Podgorica‘s web page.. The charge d'affaires, Mr. Petr Šmejkal, handed out the diplomas to the children and later met with Mr. Aleksandar Bogdanović, the Chief of the local territorial-administrative district Prijestonica opština, on the occasion of the district‘s holiday.

As regards ICEFA Lidice, the Embassy in Podgorica is in the process of arranging a meeting with Mrs.Vesna Vučurović, the Montenegrin Deputy Minister of Education. The resort’s representative, Mr. Marko Vukašinović, promised previously that the Montenegrin Ministry of Education would distribute (also via email) a letter with basic information and terms for participation in the upcoming ICEFA Lidice 2015.

Petr Šmejkal, handed out the diplomas to the children and later met with Mr. Aleksandar Bogdanović, the Chief of the local territorial-administrative district Prijestonica opština, on the occasion of the district‘s holiday.

The following prize presentation took place at the elementary school Osnovna škola Bratsko-jedinstvo in Rožaje in November 2014. The ceremony was held in the foyer of the school in the presence of Headmaster Muzafer Mujević, teachers (including the art teacher Sabahudin Honsić), students, close relatives of the prize taking children, and representatives of local government and the local media. Concurrently, invitations to the upcoming ICEFA Lidice 2015, info and promo materials about the Czech Republic and some small memorabilia were distributed at the school. After the children received their diplomas, the Ambassador Mr.Šmejkal met up with the local Rožaje opština territorial-administrative district’s  representatives.

Monitor, the Montenegrin national weekly paper, in its most recent edition (Nov. 21, 2014) released information about the ICEFA Lidice 2014 prize award ceremony that took place in Rožaje, which has a large Muslim minority and is one of the least developed parts of the country (the Sandžak area).

Currently, the Embassy is also distributing previously received letters from the Lidice Gallery to selected schools that have already participated in the competition in the past. Along with these letters, the invitation flyers for ICEFA 2015 stressing this year‘s deadline of February 28th, 2015 are being handed out to the children.
