ICEFA 2014 Prize Awards - Croatia, Zagreb

On November 19th, 2014, medals and honourable mentions were handed out on the premises of the Croatian School Museum in Zagreb to children awarded for the International Childrens‘ Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2014. After introduction speeches by representatives of the museum and Zagreb city hall, Ambassador Martin Košatka greeted the guests. In his short speech he retold the sad story of Lidice, talked about the Lidice art competition, thanked the participants, their parents and teachers, and invited them to participate in next year‘s competition. Then he handed out medals and honourable mentions to the authors of the 24 works winning prizes in the competition. Besides the participants recognized, also present at the ceremony were their parents, museum staff, and teachers from participating schools. The museum also presented some small memorabilia to the winners and after the ceremony the attanding guests were provided refreshments.
The award ceremony was also in the local media’s spotlight. The Embassy in Zagreb gave an interview to TV Mreža as well as to HRT public radio. The successful participants of the competition as well as the Head of the School Museum were also on hand to answer journalists‘ questions.
