ICEFA 2014 Prize Awards - Slovenia, Ljubljana

On November 27th, 2014 Czech Ambassador Věra Zemanová together with the Secretary of the Slovenian Ministry of Education Peter Maček handed out awards on the Ministry presmises to Slovenian elementary school students for their participation in the 42nd International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice. Ms.Zemanová and Mr. Maček held business discussions prior to the actual prize award ceremony.
Slovinia regularly participates in the ICEFA Lidice competition and traditionally has been well rewarded for its efforts. 46 Slovenian elementary schools submitted 472 works to this year’s competition, out of which 12 children as well as one elementary school won awards. Aside from the children, headmasters of their schools, teachers and parents participated in the ceremony. In her speech Ambassador Zemanová brought up the tragic events that took place in Lidice during WWII. She also offered thanks to the Slovenian Ministry of Education for its assistance and involvement in the Slovenian schools‘ participation organisation, as well as to the Slovenian children who took a part in the competition. After the award hand-out ceremony, the guests were provided refreshments as prepared by the Embassy.
