ICEFA 2016 Prize Awards - Slovakia, Bratislava
2. 9. 2016
Slovak schools and Slovak children have been participating in the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts (ICEFA) since its inception 44 years ago and also the last year saw the number of Slovak entries (1733) exceed the numbers of entries from other countries; it was also comparable to that of the Czech entries relatively to the number of inhabitants of each country.
Ambassador Livia Klausová, accompanied by Deputy Ambassador Miroslav Zozulák and First Secretary Ondřej Pometlo, presented prizes at the prize-giving ceremony in the representative hall of the Embassy on Thursday, 16 June 2016. For the first time, invitations were extended also to the schools outside Bratislava that had been awarded by a "Rose of Lidice" medal; almost a half of them accepted the invitation. So, in front of their parents and teachers, 24 children from 7 schools received their prizes directly at the Embassy.
The logistics of the event was taken care of also by the Czech Centre Bratislava, which arranged for the receipt of the prize consignments, taking photos and sending out a half of the ICEFA consignments to Slovak schools.
