ICEFA 2016 Prize Awards - Cuba, Havana

On 30 September 2016, the village of Puerta de Golpe saw presentation of a honourable mention to a contestant of ICEFA Lidice 2016. In the afternoon, Consul of the Embassy in Havana arrived at the school Centro Mixto Borelio Caraballo in Puerta de Golpe that had participated in the competition "44th International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts – Lidice 2016". The consul presented a honourable mention to the local pupil Daniel Padrón Diaz (13 years) and gave a brief talk to gathered pupils, parents and the teaching staff about the competition and the troubled history of the village of Lidice.
The second award was presented at the beginning of year 2017 to the teacher of the award-winning pupil, on the occasion of his trip to Havana.
This years' edition of the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts saw representatives of thirteen participating Cuban schools, out of whom two received honourable mentions.
