Malaysian participants of the 44th International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2016. During these days three ceremonies took place in Johor Bahru, Kuala Lumpur and George Town.
In 2016 Malaysia was represented in great number, 546 entries out of 11292 art pieces from 75 countries. 8 students from Malaysia were awarded an honorable mention and 2 obtained Lidice Rose medal.
The ceremony in Johor Bahru took place in Malaysia Art school of Johor in the presence of representatives of Malaysian Ministry of Education, teachers, parents and local community. It is a state-owned selective art school for children from the whole country. The award ceremony was the peak of the one day cultural event organized by the school for public.
In the Representative office in Kuala Lumpur the ceremony took place and two students were awarded. They were accompanied by their teachers and parents. Afterwards the children watched a czech cartoon Pat and Mat.
The ceremony for awarded students from Penang was organized in cooperation with the state institution Georgetown World Heritage Inc. and it took place in its historical building. GWH holds the cultural heritage in trust for this historical Malaysian town registered in UNESCO.
Teachers, parents and media representatives were present as well.
The Ambassador R.Hykl mentioned the historical context and the intent of the exhibition, its support by the ministries and state institutions of the Czech republic and its international prestige.
