On 28 May 2019, the opening ceremony took place in the garden of the Lidice Gallery and at the National Technical Museum in Prague. On that occasion, medals, certificates and gifts from sponsors were presented to 70 young artists. The group consisted mostly of children from Czechia, but also present were children from Slovakia and Vienna (Austria). The Main Prize of the panel – glass palettes – were handed over to the representatives of F. X. Richter Art School Holešov and the Citizens' Association Art Slnečnice. The opening ceremony took place in the presence of Director of the Lidice Memorial Martina Lehmannová, Mayoress of Lidice Veronika Kellerová, Senator Jiří Dienstbier and Assistant Dean of the University of Pardubice, Faculty of Chemistry and Technology, Lucie Stříbrná.
The same day the opening ceremony took place at the National Technical Museum in Prague. The second part of the programme was opened by Ivana Lorencová – the head of of the department of science and technology and Karel Melzoch – the rector of the University of Chemistry and Technology in Prague.
Other certificates and prizes for the winners from Czech institutions were given over to representatives (if present) of the schools at the ceremonies, the remaining ones were sent to Czech schools by post in June. We ask all the schools that has received the awards to ensure the certificates are given to the child-winners as soon as possible and photos of the event are sent to the curator to email@example.com.
Awards to invited Slovak children were presented to them at the Embassy of the Cech Republic in Bratislava on 18 June 2019 and other certificates and letters have been sent by post.
